Hey! Nice to meet you, here's Marco!
I am a freelancer and entrepreneur, obsessed with digital marketing and optimization. I like to create things and see them grow: I started a playing cards brand, as well as a blog and a few Italian courses. Besides numbers, I love languages and being exposed to different cultures and habits.
This is the place where I keep what interests me. Welcome! Take a look around!
Lune is a boutique company designing and selling unique playing cards. I created it because I wanted a valve for my creativity, a place for me to play and have fun.
We crowdfunded two projects. Colores de Colombia is a deck depicting the beauty of this country, where I lived for 3 years. Guns, Jazz & Whiskey explores the perfect yet phony aesthetics of the 1920s in New York.
We raised a combined total of €15.000 on Kickstarter, and have printed a total of 2.000 decks with industry leaders such as Cartamundi, NPCC and Boschiero & Newton.
Besides the (lots of) fun, I have learnt a bunch from Lune. I managed the entire process, from idea creation to writing copy, all the way to marketing, sales and fulfillment.
Cryptoeccetera is a blog I have created in 2018 in order to share content about cryptocurrencies in Italian -a strongly underserved market back then.
To this day, I still share my thoughts, shying away from financials to focus on tech and ideas.
WHAT I LEARNT
I specifically started this blog as a learning opportunity. This was the first time I created a website. Two biggest takeaways:
- Wordpress and everything revolving around basic web design and development, from which I made the jump to hard-coding HTML and CSS THIS WEBSITE!
- SEO. Both on-page (how to write an article to please the machine), and off-page.
STATISTICS AND FACTS
Learn Italian with Marco may be my most ambitious project yet.
I started it out of boredom during quarantine, it is becoming a full fledged suite of courses and Italian content.
It allowed me to put all I was learning about digital marketing into practice. And it allows me to blabber, which is pretty cool!
WHAT I LEARNT
Both my BSc and my MSc were in Business and Management at Bocconi University, in Milan. There, I learnt how to learn.
While studying I discovered my love for different cultures as well. I spent one semester in Canada (McGill) and one in Germany (WHU).
But I missed uni quite a bit: I went for another Master program at UPB Medellin, in Colombia. To learn Spanish rather than Marketing, to be honest!
My foray into the world of business. By chance, I'll admit. Pretty cool though.
Final Grade: 108/110
Taught in Italian
Thesis: The impact of cultural differences on negotiation
BSc in Business Administration
2011-2014
Montreal, Canada
Exchange Program
First time abroad. Cold. Amazing.
Back at it again: time to learn more.
Final Grade: 110/110
Taught in English
Thesis: Aspirational consumption in the Automotive Industry. Winner of a scholarship by UNRAE
MSc in International Management
2014-2017
2018-2019
Wanted to study some more and live in another continent. Loved every second.
Final Grade:
Taught in Spanish
Studied topics I knew in a language I didn't
Vallendar, Germany
Exchange Program
Studying abroad again. Less cold. Less amazing.
